I recently read a quote, “Trust winter when the plant says nothing.” While we probably don’t give our plants much thought in the winter, unless we are farmers, they are still there. They may appear dead but concealed within them is the power for new life. In the spring they will grow, produce, and blossom. Spring will validate the fact that they were not dead but only getting ready to break forth with the color for which they were designed.
As one author wrote, “Spring can remind you not to jump to dire conclusions when all seems lost, when you can’t see much in your future, when you feel that your reserves have dried up.”
So often in life, we find ourselves in places where it feels as though our creative side has grown cold; we are starved for new ideas and insights; we appear like that withered plant in a winter storm. However, Spring is here! No matter our age or season of life, there are still Spring seasons left in us if we are open to allowing God to nurture and cultivate those new branches and fresh leaves of hope and purpose. Regardless of your particular situation, God is not finished with you. There is no doubt that He wants to use you to make a difference in the world around you. The only question is, are you ready and willing to bloom where He has planted you?
