You may be thinking, “I don’t know that I met anybody during COVID, except for the person giving the vaccine, because we were all locked down at home.” Then you may have had a chance to meet a really important person – the person you could meet on introspection – yourself.
From the beginning of life we are shaped by the influence and viewpoints of those around us. First it is our parents, our siblings, and our extended family. Then later on it is our peer groups and intimate relationships. We easily become different things to different people. But at our core, who are we?
If you were isolated at home, you may have had the opportunity to do some introspection and discover who you really are – without the pressures of everyone else’s expectations. And if so, what did you learn? You may have recognized that you are exactly where you want to be in life. Or you may have learned that you aren’t so certain.
If you aren’t sure who you are or you want to make changes, it can be important to identify your purpose. As one author wrote – “Purpose is a symbol of what you’re doing, what you want to accomplish while you’re alive.” Our purpose is our reason for being. Do you know why God put you’re here?
