“Well, that depends – what’s the challenge?” Oh, no need to worry. It’s not eating something disgusting like eating a dish of bugs or scaling the face of Half-Dome in Yosemite. This should actually be pretty doable. “Ok. Well what is it?” you may ask. It is being kind to your spouse. While some may think, “That’s not too hard,” others may respond, “I think I’ll tackle Half-Dome.”
Researcher and author, Shaunti Feldhahn reports that when people were instructed and followed through on taking “The 30-day Kindness Challenge,” people were transformed and relationships were repaired. Here’s how it worked. The person taking the challenge could not say anything negative to their spouse or about their spouse to someone else for 30 days. They then had to find one praise to give their husband or wife each day as well as extend one act of kindness.
Shaunti stated, “The results blew my mind! Fully 89% saw an improvement in their relationships – even though the effort was all one sided. We also discovered that this exercise thoroughly retrained his or her mindset resulting in much less overall negativity. This improvement even happened in very troubled relationships.”
So, would you like to improve your marriage or relationship? Why not try the 30-day Kindness Challenge. You have nothing to lose and possibly everything to gain. Plus, you don’t have to eat bugs!
